Founded by a team of experienced educators, Alucen looks to make the publishing process accessible to those professors who share our passion for and belief in the importance of language as a vital tool for cultural discovery.

At Alucen, we are inspired by the desire to promote a fresh, innovative perspective on language and culture. We released our first two titles in January 2009 and continue to build upon the strength and success of these outstanding debuts.

Nasser Isleem’s Popular Proverbs has received tremendous praise for his beautifully descriptive introduction to Palestinian culture and identity. Perspectives, a text for teaching Arabic through film by Zainab Alwani, Mbarek Sryfi and Nasser Isleem, provides students with a unique approach to studying the language and culture of the Arabic-speaking world.

We look forward to many exciting developments in 2010 with the publication of more Arabic titles and our first Spanish language project. Stay tuned…
